In my privacy options, I have selected the "summary information - thumbnail maps and high level information" option for the Public. However, if I paste the sharing link for one of my activities into a forum page e.g. http://www.runsaturday.com/tabId/64/activityId/105877/Default.aspx , people clicking on this get told that they don't have access to the information. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong here?

Hi Fishy The activities themselves are counted as detailed information - they include notes and maps - so currently if you want to let people see the activity level of detail then you'll need to open up your privacy options further - you'll need to let people see all information or to see all except notes and/or private maps. Hope that helps as an explanation Stuart (back from "holiday")

Hi HW, Any chance we could have an additional privacy setting: "Most information - Detailed notes with thumbnail maps of private locations"? This would give access to all training data, except that Location and full maps would not be available where they start or finish in a private location.

Hi I've just checked and it actually is possible to do this... as the privacy split could be made to treat the thumbnail data differently to the main data. However, before I add yet more confusion to the privacy settings can I just check that this is a real requirement - it seems a bit odd to me at present as you're not really protecting your privacy by doing this - if someone gets the thumbnail then they can still work out where you live/work/drink/etc - especially as they can pull the geo data off of the image url. So I'm not sure if I should add this right now... Stuart

Ah, if that is the case, then maybe it is not worthwhile. I had assumed that the thumbnail could just be considered as a low-res representation of the route, without any geo data available from it. Probably best to scrub this idea then.
